Description

Under the direction of the NEOnet Executive Director, the Student Services Support Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of student software support services to educational entities associated with the NEOnet consortium. This job has a FLSA status of Exempt.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Assist in the day to day operations of the student software and EMIS departments.
  2. Maintain and enhance an understanding of all student software application.
  3. Provides rapid detection and solution to all student software inquiries and effective means of ‘trouble-shooting’ user questions, concerns and needs.
  4. Coordinate, plan and deliver training for users on all student software modules.
  5. Assist in the management and supervision of the student software and EMIS support team.
  6. Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more other full time employees or their equivalent.
  7. Makes suggestions and recommendations that are given particular weight as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other change of status of other employees.
  8. Coordinate and review for completion all special projects for consortium members and assist Student Liaisons/Specialists in the completion of such.
  9. Coordinate and create new districts to the student software and EMIS applications.
  10. Act as contact between school district personnel and NEOnet regarding related questions and issues.
  11. Keep users notified of changes and/or updates to the current student management record system and supporting student software modules.
  12. Provide leadership and investigate new products and procedures including evaluation and implementation of enhancements.
  13. Self-reliantly work to aid the Student and EMIS Teams in the preparation and implementation of NEOnet quarterly newsletters, monthly updates, annual continuous improvement plans and independent professional development maintenance.
  14. Assist team members to ensure member financial data is secured, backed up and maintained.
  15. Stay informed of technology trends and changes.
  16. Assist in developing various software procedures as needed by NEOnet and school district personnel.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned by the NEOnet Executive Director.

           

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Ability to read and understand software documentation, to develop instructional materials as needed, to conduct training programs in the use of software applications.
  2. Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously with many individuals of varying backgrounds and to handle information professionally and confidentially.
  3. Ability to organize tasks into a logical and purposeful sequence.
  4. Provide problem-solving initiative, cultivate resources available from other OECN sites, the Ohio Department of Education, and associated commercial vendors.
  5. Familiarity with various computer systems and ability to use associated computer equipment.
  6. Ability to communicate with other employees and train others in the use of computer equipment.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Minimum of two year degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  2. 10 or more years of appropriate experience in all student software applications.
  3. Working knowledge of computer languages and/or operating systems.
  4. Ability to use software tools to perform needed tasks.
  5. Experience with the Data Analysis for Student Learning Software or equivalent.

  3. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, taste and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee may occasionally  be expected to move and/or lift 100 pounds or move but may obtain assistance or use equipment and carts to facilitate these tasks. Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  4. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving, mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.

 

The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Council.
