Under the direction of the NEOnet Executive Director, the Delivery Engineer is responsible for installation, maintenance and upgrades of specific core NEOnet systems and administration of delivered services to educational entities associated with NEOnet. This job has a FLSA status of Exempt.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Configure, install and administer various network devices (routers, switches, & access points)
- Monitoring, configuration, design and management of wireless and local area networks.
- Work closely with cabling teams to upgrade customer network hardware and cabling
- Planning, staging equipment and implementing network installations.
- The application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications.
- Monitoring, configuration, design and management of wide area networks.
- Monitoring, configuration, design and management of VoIP hosted service.
- Provide installation, administration and end user support including but not limited to network trouble shooting, wireless, web filtering, authentication, VoIP and hosted firewall services.
- Developing comprehensive project plans as well as managing projects to completion.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the NEOnet Executive Director.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum five years of experience with design, administration and support of Cisco, or equivalent, wireless, switch and firewall products.
- Hands on experience with network implementation & administration (preferably Cisco & Aruba)
- Ensure all installation & service work is done according to quality standards
- Ability to work some scheduled nights occasionally for changes completed outside of business hours
- Must be exceptionally organized, methodical and attentive to detail
- Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously with many individuals of varying backgrounds and to handle information professionally and confidentially.
- Ability to organize tasks into a logical and purposeful sequence.
- Provide problem-solving initiative, cultivate resources available from other OECN sites, the Ohio Department of Education, and associated commercial vendors.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of two year degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Professional certification in related areas.

- Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving, mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
